Every Chinese New Year, everyone has the custom of setting off firecrackers. Setting off firecrackers is a traditional Chinese custom and has a history of more than 2,000 years. It is said that it is to drive out a monster called Nian.

Red, yellow cardstock
1.Take out a red A4 size cardstock. Fold it along two short sides, divide it into three equal parts, and cut into three long strips.
2.Take out the yellow cardstock, cut out the slender strip, width 0.5cm or so.
3. Gum on the red strip, about 0.5cm from the top edge. You can also use double-sided tape.
4. Stick a yellow strip on it. Then attach another bar 0.5cm from the bottom.
5.Fold the red strip in half and fold it in three equal pieces.
6.Open it completely, then cut it along the crease.
7.Take one of the pieces of paper, turn it over and apply glue to one of the long edges.
8.Roll it up, glue it, and you've made a little firecracker. All the other pieces of paper do the same.
9.Cut a small cut on the firecracker. You need to squish the firecracker a little and cut it on the side.
10.When it is finished it should be like this, and get a small diamond-shaped hole.
11. Cut out two rectangles from red and yellow cardboard. The red ones are slightly larger, and start making tassels.
12. Fold the two pieces of paper by the longer side.
